how to start.

: resource to help you - and our community - electrify.

Step 1: Make a Plan

Before jumping into any changes, it's important to consider how all appliances and systems in your home work together. What works in one home or building won't necessarily work in another.
  • Start by understanding how your appliances are powered (gas or electric)
  • Consider which appliances might be on their last legs and need to be replaced soon
  • Get curious about ways to weatherize
  • Learn about how tax credits and rebates can help cover costs.

Understanding how these elements come together to make your home comfortable and functional will help clarify where your electrification journey should begin. It will also help determine if adding rooftop solar is a good option now, or if you should wait until more of your appliances are electric instead of gas.

We have lots of resources in the adjacent table - and there's in-person help when you're ready at the Home Upgrade Hub (see below)!
